Valard Construction LP - Powerline Technician

Valard, Canada's premier utility contractor and part of the Quanta Group, is seeking qualified Powerline Technicians to join our Toronto Hydro Grid Response Team. We are looking for self-motivated team players willing to work shift work and overtime, with eligibility for shift premiums. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of underground and overhead distribution systems and be capable of collaborating effectively with a partner to troubleshoot issues within the distribution system.

Requirements

• Red Seal Distribution Lineman certification (or equivalent).
• 5-10 years minimum distribution experience.
• Class 4 Rubber Glove experience.
• Class DZ license mandatory; AZ preferred.
• Up-to-date Working at Heights certification.
• Resident within daily driving distance of the GTA; local candidates preferred.

Assets

• Union membership with CUSW is an asset; willingness to join the union required.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Living in the Toronto area.
• Previous Toronto Hydro experience.
• Current UWPC certification.
• Standard First Aid (CPR/AED).
