Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy.

Valard Construction LP is currently seeking qualified Powerline Technician to join our Toronto Hydro Grid Response Team. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, team players, willing to work shift work plus overtime. You will be eligible for a shift premium for work on the Grid Response Team. Candidates should have a full understanding of underground and overhead distribution systems and the ability to work collaboratively with a partner to troubleshoot problems within the distribution system.

Requirements
  • Red Seal Distribution Lineman (must have Red Seal Certificate or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5-10 years distribution experience
  • Class 4 Rubber Glove experience
  • Class DZ mandatory (preference to AZ)
  • Working at Heights Certification up to date
  • Live within daily driving distance of the GTA. Local to GTA preferred
Assets
  • Valard Construction is a CUSW Union employer: CUSW membership would be an asset / must be willing to join CUSW union
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic
  • Living in the Toronto area
  • Previous Toronto Hydro experience
  • Current UWPC certification
  • Standard First Aid (CPR/AED)
