The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman Pipefitters for a one month shutdown project at an oil and gas facility near Namao, Alberta. This is a live in plant role requiring previous shutdown and industrial site experience. Work will be performed in a fast-paced, safety focused environment. We are looking for people who are local to the Edmonton area, as there is no LOA for this project. The start date is April 28, 2025.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Can hire as a direct employee or as a Direct Service Provider (DSP).
  • Competitive Wage.
  • Overtime at time and a half after 8 hours per day.
  • 6% vacation pay and 4% stat holiday pay on all regular hours.
  • Benefits after 90 days of employment (50% employer paid) - vision, health, dental, paramedicals, travel.
  • Long term disability, AD&D, life insurance, dependent life insurance.
  • Weekly pay.

*DSP’s - hourly wage only plus vehicle and insurance allowance; no overtime, benefits, vacation or stat holiday pay.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Execute shutdown work including disassembly, repair, installation and reassembly of piping systems (including torquing).
  • Rigging & lifting (critical lifts) around live lines and facilities.
  • Work closely with supervision and other trades to meet tight project deadlines.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, isometrics and piping drawings.
  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety protocols and project standards.

  • Previous shutdown experience is an asset.

  • Takes pride in safety, document control, lock-up procedures & preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent English communication skills required.
  • Able to follow directions.
  • Performs well under pressure and tight deadlines.

Experience/Education/Qualifications

  • Registered Journeyperson Pipefitter.
  • Must have previous experience in a similar setting and industry.
  • Must have the following safety tickets: H2S Alive and WHMIS 2015.
  • May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Able to work long hours in a plant environment in all weather conditions.
  • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract with reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be local to Edmonton and surrounding areas.
