Characteristics Needed to Succeed:
- Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program.
- Experience as a trade carpenter, including hands-on experience working with carpentry materials.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety guidelines while on shift.
- 20/20 vision.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand job requirements.
- Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall to ensure they are level and compatible.
- Carve and assemble cabinets, shelves, and other items as required, and install them where designated.
- Take precise measurements to calculate the size and amount of the material that are needed.
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber, fiberglass, and other material according to measurements.
- Inspect the workspace for safety and job feasibility.
