Job description

Additionally, Applied provides engineering, design, and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, along with customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services.

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Journeyman Millwright / Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for performing repair and assembly services on hydraulic and mechanical components and systems to support the company's strategic goals. This role involves active participation in daily activities to grow the Mechanical Repair and Fluid Power business at our Kamloops location.

Responsibilities
  • System troubleshooting in shop and field settings
  • Gearbox and mechanical system repair
  • Completing work and test reports according to quality systems and procedures
  • Performing repair services to OEM standards and customer requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to scope of work, component supply, and customer specifications
  • Failure analysis and condition reporting
  • Making recommendations for scope of work and product or system improvements
  • Painting, cleaning, and other general shop duties as required
Qualifications
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills with proficiency in hand tools, machinery, diagnostic, and testing equipment related to hydraulic service, manufacturing, and installation
  • Experience repairing industrial gearboxes and mechanical systems
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Willingness to learn new methods and adapt to changing technology and customer needs
  • Owns a set of common hand tools for job completion
  • Millwright or heavy-duty mechanic training is an asset
  • Field service experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and leading by example
  • Machining and welding experience are assets
