Job summary

Wrapex Industrial Services Inc. is hiring Journeyman and Apprentice Insulators for full-time, long-term work in the Rocky Mountain House Region. Local candidates within 100 km are preferred, with responsibilities including insulation of piping, vessels, and equipment and installation of vapour barriers.

Candidates should read drawings, measure and cut materials, and work safely at heights and in confined spaces, following all site safety requirements.

Qualifications

• CSTS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection safety tickets are required or asset.
• WHMIS 2015 and Standard First Aid knowledge are preferred.
• CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots and own hand tools are expected.
• Local to Rocky Mountain House area within 100 km of the site.

Responsibilities

• Apply insulation and cladding to piping, equipment, and vessels.
• Read drawings and specs to determine insulation requirements.
• Cut, fit, and install insulation materials and vapour barriers.
• Fabricate and install metal cladding; manage safety at heights and confined spaces.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow site safety requirements.

Job Description

Wrapex Industrial Services Inc. is currently seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Insulators for full-time, long-term work in the Rocky Mountain House Region. Must be Local to the Rocky Mountain House area (within 100KM).

Responsibilities and Duties

Candidates must have the ability to apply insulation and cladding materials to heating and cooling systems, piping, pipelines, equipment, pressure vessels, and other structures to prevent or reduce the passage of heat, cold, sound, or fire.

Duties may include:

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements and select appropriate insulation materials
• Measure and cut insulation materials to required dimensions using hand and power tools
• Apply and secure insulation using appropriate application and installation methods
• Fit insulation around piping, equipment, obstructions, and other structures
• Install vapour barriers and weatherproofing systems as required
• Fabricate and install metal cladding as required
• Remove and replace existing insulation as required
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must possess valid safety tickets as required for the worksite, which may include:

• CSTS
• H2S Alive
• Fall Protection
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) (Not mandatory but an asset)
• WHMIS 2015
• Standard First Aid
• CSO

Candidates must also:

• Have their own required hand tools and CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots
• Be able to work with a variety of industrial insulation materials
• Be physically capable of performing the requirements of the position, including handling heavy materials and equipment
• Be able to work in physically demanding environments
• Be able to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty or industrial environments
• Be self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a crew
• Work cooperatively with other teams and trades
• Be able to manage multiple tasks and meet project requirements
• Follow established safety procedures and support a safety-focused work environment

A valid Alberta Apprenticeship Blue Book is an asset for Apprentices.

Work Schedule

Work schedules will be determined based on project and client requirements.
