PTW Energy Services in Battleford, SK, is hiring a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain industrial instrumentation and control systems. You will support power generation equipment, perform diagnostics, and ensure safety and quality in every task.

Qualifikationen

• Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate required; Red Seal preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical principles.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, DCS and HMI systems.
• Experience in gas/power plants or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Proficient with test and calibration equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes).
• Valid safety certifications: H2S Alive, Fall Protection, First Aid, CSTS 2020.
• Strong communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license; flexible for shift work and overtime.

Aufgaben

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate instrumentation, electrical, and control systems including CEMS.
• Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation such as transmitters, sensors, valves, controllers, PLCs.
• Support power generation equipment including gas turbines and plant auxiliaries.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret drawings and documentation; maintain calibration records and work orders.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and contractors during installations and startups.
• Communicate equipment condition and safety concerns clearly to supervision.
• Adhere to Health & Safety standards and CSTS 2020.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our team in the Battleford area. The Instrumentation Journeyman is committed to delivering safe, high-quality work that meets and exceeds client expectations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, and customer satisfaction, along with proven experience producing accurate, detail-oriented work in support of client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate industrial instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, including continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS)
• Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, control valves, controllers, PLCs, and protective relays
• Support and maintain power generation and industrial equipment, including gas turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary systems
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnostics, and system optimization to support reliable operations and minimize downtime
• Rebuild and calibrate instrumentation components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, control system drawings, manuals, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and external contractors during installations, start-ups, and shutdowns
• Accurately complete calibration records, maintenance reports, work orders, and electronic documentation (CMMS)
• Communicate equipment condition, safety concerns, and job status clearly to operations and supervision
• Perform all work in compliance with Health & Safety standards, OHS regulations, and company policies
• Other duties as required

Qualifications / Requirements

• Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certificate; Red Seal Instrumentation Technician certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical principles, voltage/current relationships
• Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems (programming and troubleshooting)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Experience in gas plants, power plants, or industrial manufacturing environments
• Proficient with test and calibration equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes)
• Skilled using hand tools and electrical tools for installation and maintenance
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and weekends, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $45/h, commensurate with experience and certification.
• Shift: 5 days on 2 days off
