Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our Two Rivers Lodge team in Fort St John, BC. The Journeyman HVAC Technician is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of systems. Work may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. The position operates on a rotational schedule.

The hourly wage for this role is $44.93 CAD, working on a rotation of 14 days on, and 14 days off.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects/deficiencies.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance service on HVAC and Refrigeration systems and fixtures.
  • Provides input into the planned and scheduled work and assists with the completion of the committed schedule.
  • Assists with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
  • Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
  • Ensures all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
  • Ensures all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Certified HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic (Red Seal).
  • Class B ticket.
  • Current certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform.
  • Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to read drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
  • Willing and able to travel.
  • Highly experienced with customer/client/user management in a 24/7 operation with a strong customer focus.
  • Effectively solve problems.

Compensation:

Base wage: $44.93/hr + opportunity for overtime. Benefits and pension administered through the union.

This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion of a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit to work medical test and criminal record check.
