Job description

Surepoint is currently seeking experienced Journeymen for a Lead/Foreman role at our Nisku branch.

The applicant must have a continual focus on safety, cost control, and client satisfaction when performing the duties of this position. The applicant must also have an attention to detail to meet and exceed client needs and expectations, as well as the ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner. The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, exercise initiative and good judgment, and have the ability to multi-task. Willingness to travel for work and the ability to work extended shifts are required.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:
  • Journeyman Electrician Certificate
  • Enforce safety policies and practices, conduct safety meetings, and ensure proper PPE usage
  • Plan and layout electrical work based on blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by crew members
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, labor hours, and project progress
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues promptly
  • Assist in estimating labor and material costs for upcoming projects
  • Train and mentor less experienced electricians
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet project timelines and objectives
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Computer skills in Excel and Bluebeam Revu are assets
  • Ability to work away from home and extend work hours as needed
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
