Job summary

Dexterra is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our maintenance team in Edmonton. The role involves installing electrical components in temporary and permanent structures, reading prints, and troubleshooting faults to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include fire alarm installations, preventative maintenance, and renovations of electrical systems. The position is site-based with safety-sensitive requirements and standard industrial protections.

Qualifications

• Completion of journeyperson electrical training.
• 5 years of experience as an electrician in residential and commercial settings.
• Able to perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Work in confined spaces and wear protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical components in temporary and permanent buildings per scope and prints.
• Install fire alarm systems and electrical controls.
• Read blueprints and troubleshoot faults.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs.
• Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures.
• Perform routine testing of voltage and circuit integrity.
• Other duties as assigned.
