Position Title: Journeyman Electrician
Position Type: Full Time (10 months – Term position)
Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects & Maintenance, the successful candidate will provide electrical support for Maple Leaf Agri Farms facilities in Manitoba.

Responsibilities:
  1. Respond promptly to production calls to minimize downtime.
  2. Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and electrical codes.
  3. Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical infrastructure.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment such as PLCs, VFDs, and environmental controllers.
  5. Complete preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, and track equipment.
  6. Contribute to preventative maintenance improvements.
  7. Provide on-the-job training on ventilation controls, alarm systems, and other equipment as needed.
  8. Conduct facility and equipment audits.
  9. Document data into the work order system.
  10. Apply best practices to correct deficiencies.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Education:
  1. Willingness to travel within business operations.
  2. Journeyman Electrician license in Manitoba.
  3. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work efficiently with all operations.
  5. Self-motivated team player.
  6. Proficient computer skills.
  7. Attention to detail.
  8. Ability to work in a farm environment.
  9. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  10. Thermography training or certification (asset).
  11. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  12. Alignment with Maple Leaf Leadership Values.
  13. Previous maintenance and hog industry experience (assets).
