Job summary

Northwest Territories Power Corporation seeks a certified Diesel Mechanic to service two large natural gas generator sets and various engines in Inuvik, NT. You will perform routine maintenance, overhauls, and troubleshooting, with travel to remote plants as needed.

The role requires Red Seal certification and a Class 5 driver's license, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork within Maintenance Services. Relocation support may be provided, along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal or equivalents.
• Ability to read drawings, diagrams, and specs for mechanical equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work without heavy supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and overhauls on diesel and gas engines and generators.
• Investigate and diagnose mechanical issues; propose solutions.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety programs and regulations.
• Travel to remote satellite plants for inspections and maintenance tasks.
