Job summary

North America Construction (1993) Ltd. – NAC Constructors Ltd. is seeking a Civil Carpenter for our Water Treatment Facility Upgrade project in Brandon, MB. You will build and install formwork, align components, read blueprints, and ensure quality and safety on site.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in heavy construction, experience with concrete formwork and bulkheads, plus safety certifications (WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, Fall Arrest). Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in heavy construction.
• Experience with concrete formwork (gang systems; Dolka asset) and stick building formwork (wood forms).
• Experience with concrete placement.
• Water retaining structures construction experience.
• Experience building bulkheads.
• Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of carpentry tools.
• Ability to read building specifications, blueprints and as-builds.
• Workplace safety knowledge and safe lifting/handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build, layout and execute forms per specifications with grade calculations.
• Layout foundations and install piling, floors and walls.
• Layout, construct and install beams and shoring.
• Construct and assemble scaffolding as needed.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
• Observe health and safety regulations and supervise apprentices as required.
• Read blueprints and as-builds to guide work.
• Perform interior and exterior renovations per specifications.
• Handle and transport materials to the work area.
