Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting Carpenter Journeypersons to work on the Fish Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant project in Calgary, AB. This long-term opportunity is with Technical Workforce Inc. and offers a 10 days on, 4 days off schedule with LOA accommodations for eligible candidates.

As a Carpenter Journeyperson, you will build concrete forms, read blueprints, cut, shape and join materials, and mentor apprentices on site while ensuring safety and quality across the project.

Qualifications

• Preference for Carpenter Journeyperson Certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
• Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to industrial carpentry.
• Fall Protection certification is considered an asset.
• Experience operating telehandlers and manlifts is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build concrete forms.
• Cut, shape, and join materials.
• Identify and correct deficiencies.
• Check the accuracy of work and adjust as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints for work planning.
• Construct and form chutes for pouring concrete.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Mentor and provide leadership to apprentice carpenters.
• Report abnormalities or defects to supervisors and take corrective action.
• Perform general site maintenance and housekeeping duties.
