Job description

We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners tosignificantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking aJourneyman Carpentertolead a team toframe manual wall panels, floors,andstairs. In this role you willperforma variety of tasks involving physical labor andare required to

operateequipment and hand and power tools.


What you will do:
  • Assemble/finish pre-built wall,andfloor structures
  • Examine and understand specifics of blueprints,building plansand work orders
  • to prepare project layouts todeterminethe dimensions andlead the internal team in executing the home build
  • Measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential buildings.
  • Install exterior windows and doors
  • Frame floor panels as per joist layout and framing shop drawings
  • Conduct interior work such as fitting interior doors and casings
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes.
  • Provideon thejobtraining & mentorship to other employeesin a manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain safety standards in thework placethrough dailytool boxmeetings.
  • Follow quality control procedures.
  • Work with the procurement team and material management teams to ensure raw materials areavailable.
  • Participate actively in problem solvingsessions,continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performadditionalduties asrequired.
What you will need to succeed:
  • High School Diploma,GEDor equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in framingposition.
  • Experience leading a team of people.
  • Journeyman Carpenter certification.
  • Proficient and proactive in ensuring onsite framing meets Alberta BuildingCodes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset.
  • Teamworkoriented.
  • Excellentproblem solvingskills andgood communicationskills.
  • Residential construction knowledge.
  • Ability tooperatehand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints,shop drawingsand work orders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
