Job summary

Capital Chevrolet Buick GMC Inc is seeking a Journeyman Auto Body Technician to join our high-volume shop. You will perform structural, non-structural, and cosmetic repairs and work with estimators to ensure smooth workflow from repair to paint.

The role requires Red Seal Journeyman status (or equivalent) and experience in OEM-certified facilities, using modern repair tools, welders, and measuring benches. A strong attention to detail and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Auto Body Technician Certification (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in a high volume collision repair facility or OEM certified body shop.
• Deep knowledge of collision repair methods, OEM guidelines, advanced structural repair techniques, and expertise with modern repair tools, welders, and measuring benches.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural, non-structural, and cosmetic repairs, including sheet metal straightening, panel replacements, weld on replacements, bonding, riveting, and trim/glass work.
• Utilize OEM repair procedures, repair plans, and technical bulletins to restore vehicles to factory specifications and pre-accident condition.
• Work closely with estimators on repair variances and supplement identification, coordinate with parts staff to verify components, and prepare vehicles for the paint department.
• Conduct self-directed quality checks throughout the repair process, maintaining a strict 'fix it right the first time' standard to ensure final inspection readiness.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all shop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling rules.
• Active participation in paid OEM brand certifications and modern technical upskilling.
