TheToronto Staris seeking a sharp, curious, and ambitious reporter to join our newsroom as aBusiness Journalist.During this critical moment when economic, corporate and financial forces are reshaping the lives of Canadians, this reporter will be tasked with delivering urgent, revelatory and engaging journalism on business issues. Whether covering the dramatic spike in consumer prices, rapidly evolving changes in technology, labour trends or the decisions of powerful institutions, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to break news, expose trends, provide deep context, and tell human stories. You’ll be expected to report, write and deliver authoritative coverage of breaking business news and trends on deadline. You’ll also be encouraged to pitch and develop enterprise stories that unpack the forces behind the headlines, offering new insight and compelling angles. Collaboration is key — working with editors, visual journalists and digital producers to craft deeply reported, engaging and highly readable journalism. QualificationsSalary:$60,547.97 -$95,740.19

This is a notice of vacancy under Article 8 of collective agreement between Toronto Star Newspapers Limited and Unifor Local 87M. The hours of work for this position will vary according to the assignment, but will all conform to a standard 35-hour work week as described under the collective agreement. These positions will be located Toronto.
