Job description

Our client, a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist for a 1-year contract (with strong potential for renewal). This newly created role is ideal for someone with a background in engineering or business, combined with 1–2 years of regulatory experience, including co-ops or internships, within the automotive, aerospace, or transportation sectors.

Location: Near Fairview Mall
Type: 2 days a week on site

About the role:

  • Compensation: $36/hour + $3,000 bonus at end of contract
  • Hybrid role – 2 days/week onsite in Toronto
  • Monday–Friday schedule with some flexibility
  • 1 year contract (with high possibility of extension)
  • Reports to Sr. Manager, External Affairs & Customer Relations
  • Join a high-impact team of 20 within the After Sales division

Regulatory Affairs Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and interpret Canadian federal and provincial regulations related to vehicle safety, emissions, and materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, After Sales, Legal, Logistics, and international regulatory teams.
  • Coordinate regulatory submissions and compliance reporting for agencies such as Transport Canada, Environment Canada, and Natural Resources Canada.
  • Support internal presentations and strategy discussions related to evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of regulatory processes impacting vehicle certification and market compliance.
Regulatory Affairs Specialist Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred) or Business (with more experience); university education is mandatory.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in a regulatory or technical capacity, preferably within the automotive or similar industry.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and communication skills - able to liaise with government agencies and present findings effectively.
  • Critical thinking and curiosity with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
