Job summary

A community theatre organization in Red Deer is seeking a Lighting Designer for their March 2017 production of Calendar Girls. The ideal candidate will have experience in theatre lighting design and the ability to collaborate potentially via Skype from other locations. An honorarium is provided for the qualified Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a heartfelt production aiding the Cancer Society while honoring a beloved community member.

Lighting Designer opportunity

Calendar Girls – a special show with a special background.

Red Deer Players is looking for a lighting designer to help with our March 2017 production of Calendar Girls. This show is being done in conjunction with a fundraising effort for the Cancer Society, and also to launch the Carole Forhan Scholarship for Theatrical Arts. We lost a Red Deer community theatre mainstay when Carole tragically succumbed to her own struggles with cancer, whilst Calendar Girls was in the audition stages. Otherwise, she would be on stage with us, in March of 2017.

Ideally, the designer would be resident in Red Deer – however, a lot can be done with Skype these days! Therefore, working from Calgary or Edmonton would probably be possible.

• We need to have someone on board by January 15, 2017.
• An honorarium is available to a qualified Designer.
