Job description

Territory: Eastern ON

JOB PURPOSE:

  • To expedite access to hematology oncology medicines through thorough understanding of hematology oncology landscape and hospital/cancer center nuances
  • To partner with HCPs and hospitals centers to support hematology oncology patients throughout their treatment journey
  • To be ambitious for patients by optimizing the use of our hematology oncology medicines in alignment to GSK Values and Mission and get ahead of hematological malignancies together

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a strategic business sales plan that maximizes territory growth. This includes setting appropriate short- and long-term objectives for the hematological oncology customers, allied health care professionals and hospital/cancer centers to achieve mid to long term objectives and achieve/surpass targets
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customers, hospitals, the provincial/hospital oncology environment including what are best levers to bring value to key decision makers at all these levels.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of GSK products, strategies, positioning and POA in the hematology oncology space
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of competitor companies, products, positioning and how HCPs view the overall landscape in the hematology oncology space
  • Effectively engage health care professionals in scientific discussions that appropriately challenge status quo and raise task tension to ensure GSK products are optimally prescribed to the right patient at the right time
  • Develop effective internal relationships and fearlessly collaborate with cross-functional colleagues both in field and head office to create new, impactful ideas together to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Embrace accountability and empowerment to make quick decisions that consider all key internal and external stakeholders
  • Take the bigger picture view when making trade-off decisions, and look for the best opportunity to support HCPs across the country
  • Contribute to a great results-oriented working environment by bringing positive energy and commitment to hold self and others accountable for delivering on objectives
  • Know and fully comply with all rules, policies, procedures, both internally and during customer interactions
  • Represents GSK in a way consistently demonstrating respect, transparency, and integrity that puts patients first and protects the company reputation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree completed, advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Significant and recent hematological oncology experience (minimum 5 years) is preferred, especially in markets inclusive of key academic centers.
  • In the absence of current hematological oncology expertise, proven and outstanding performance in launching a product in a competitive market is essential.
  • Self-starter who is driven by desire to leave a lasting positive impact on the healthcare system and hematology oncology patients regardless of barriers
  • Persuasive individual willing to productively challenge status quo for the benefit of the patient, both internally and externally with customers and stakeholders who may have ingrained beliefs and behaviors
  • Innovative, agile and fearless collaborator with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a natural curiosity, and an ability to actively listen
  • Experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing, managing a breadth and volume of activities on a day-to-day basis to satisfactory conclusion and delivering to the required timelines
  • Working knowledge of computer technology, Office-based applications and agility to learn new programs
  • Valid Driver’s License*
  • Ability to travel within territory and domestically as required

*This position requires the employee to drive routinely on Company business and allows for the provision of a company – leased vehicle. However, to be eligible for this position and a company vehicle, GSK will need to obtain acceptable results from a license verification inquiry and drivers abstract review against its safe driver program requirement.

Fleet Requirements – You will need to provide a 5 year Driver’s Abstract at the Offer Stage to confirm Fleet Eligibility.
