Salary range: $65,000 - $90,000

What you will be doing
  • Develop and implement ground disturbance plans for construction projects
  • Ensure all ground disturbance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate site-specific ground disturbance activities
  • Conduct site assessments to identify potential risks and hazards related to ground disturbance
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during ground disturbance operations
  • Conduct safety training sessions for workers on ground disturbance protocols, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Monitor and document compliance with regulatory requirements related to soil, groundwater, and environmental protection
  • Review, attain, and print all BC One Call utility permits and other required permits for ground disturbance activities, including excavation and utility work
  • Ensure permits are acquired in a timely manner and that all required utility providers are notified of upcoming disturbances
  • Maintain accurate records of ground disturbance activities, permits, inspections, and compliance reports
  • Investigate and respond to any incidents or accidents related to ground disturbance activities
  • Develop and implement corrective actions or mitigation measures to reduce risks
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for any ground disturbance-related concerns, questions, or issues
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and external agencies to ensure smooth coordination of ground disturbance activities
  • Provide regular updates and reports on ground disturbance activities to senior management
  • Ensure all ground disturbance activities minimize environmental impact, including protecting natural habitats, wetlands, and water resources
  • Oversee erosion control and stormwater management measures on construction sites
What we are looking for
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or other related discipline
  • Ground Disturbance Level II certification is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction, with at least 1-2 years of experience specifically in ground disturbance or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, ground disturbance regulations, and environmental laws
  • Experience with BC One Call and utility permit processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and mitigate risks associated with ground disturbance activities
  • Class 5 driver license is highly preferred
  • Availability to potentially work evenings, weekends, and longer hours if required
