Description:

Camp Huron (formerly known as Huron Church Camp), owned and operated by the Anglican Diocese of Huron, is looking for a Chef Manager for its upcoming summer season, June 22 - August 17, 2025. Join an overnight camp community where children and youth, ages 6-16, gather to participate in various activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, archery, climbing, STEM, outdoor adventures, and stargazing. Sharing good food together is a camp highlight. If you have experience in food services or a culinary program, including menu planning, ordering, cooking, and cleaning, and enjoy a lively and busy workplace, this might be a great opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large budget and oversee menu planning in accordance with Canada's Food Guide.
  • Ensure knowledge of cleaning and food storage best practices.
  • Adapt meal plans for individuals with allergies and specific dietary requirements.
  • Supervise a Cook and two assistants while caring for approximately forty staff and up to fifty campers per week.

Qualifications:

  • University/College in progress with demonstrated leadership in food services or experience in the food services industry.
  • Experience working with children and youth is an asset.
  • Accommodations are provided.
  • Weekend work may be required with alternative days off negotiated.
