The City of Hamilton is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with audits. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, you will reconcile accounts, post transactions, and help with month-end close.
You should have basic accounting knowledge, experience with Word/Excel/Outlook, and familiarity with ERP systems. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills in a team environment.

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the Accounting Clerk supports daily financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, reconciles bank statements and general ledger accounts. The clerk verifies, codes, and posts receipts and expenses, and assists with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Maintains organized filing systems, communicates with vendors and internal staff regarding accounting entries, and provides documentation and support during audits. The Accounting Clerk also performs general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting section.
