SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reports to the Project Manager, Business Systems.
The Senior Spatial Applications Analyst plans, manages, analyses and co-ordinates Spatial data for the Transportation Division. They may also provide assistance for other Divisions and Sections as required.
This work includes using the Geographical Information System (GIS) to analyse data, maintain asset information, create and update various operational layers, producing various maps for reporting and operational needs, and creating processes and workflows for capturing data in the field using mobile GIS solutions.
GENERAL DUTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMTED TO)
Perform analysis on geospatial data on behalf of the Transportation Division.
Using information stored in both the GIS and the asset management system produces a variety of maps, reports and charts.
Maintains asset information within the GIS.
Creates and maintains GIS layers for the Transportation Division.
Produces a variety of map interfaces for reporting and operational needs (Web-based maps, Collector Applications, Survey 123, Other GIS-based platforms)
Maintains the GIS bi-directional interface between ESRI and Infor Public Sector ( IPS)\ Hansen relational databases.
Makes information available to outside agencies and contractors as required. Ensures data security and privacy of information is maintained.
Develop procedures and evaluate workflows for interdependent links between spatial databases and asset management systems for Transportation Systems.
Prepare or review a variety of reports, as required, arising out of this area of responsibility. Provides assistance to other Divisions and Sections as required.
Develop partnerships with other municipalities and companies to enhance efficiency and share ideas. Participates in GIS working groups as required.
Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions on as needed basis to keep skills up to date.
Performs other duties as assigned which are related to the major responsibilities of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID CLASS "G" DRIVER'S LICENSE AND PROOF THEREOF IS REQUIRED AFTER HIRE

Salary Grade M
HOURS:
35 per week
