Job summary

Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto is actively seeking a Job Developer/Workforce Development Specialist to lead business development and employer outreach. The position is full-time and in-person at multiple Toronto locations, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in sales, business development or client relations.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build rapport and negotiate.

  • Second language is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and outreach to employers; build a pipeline of opportunities for clients.
  • Match clients' skills with job opportunities; coordinate interviews and placements.
  • Use sales techniques to access opportunities in the hidden job market.
  • Meet or exceed job development and placement targets; maintain outreach records.
  • Collaborate with Employment Counselors to understand client needs and strengths.
  • Plan and execute hiring events, job fairs and related outreach, including evening/weekend work.

Location:245 Fairview Mall Drive, Unit 201, North York, ON,and 100 Sheppard Ave East, North York, ON,with the possibility of working at anyof ourotherofficesas needed.

Position Summary

Newcomer Women's Services Toronto is seeking a motivated Job Developer with a proven background in sales or business development. In this position, the incumbent willleveragetheir strong interpersonal skills, salesexpertise, and ability to build networks toestablishpartnerships with employers.This role integrates business development with relationship management to ensure our clients connect with employers committed to providing long-term, sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Employer Outreach:Proactively identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with businesses within the community, emphasizing the advantages of collaboration with our agency. This involves conducting both cold and warm calls, attending on-site meetings, and developing a pipeline of potential employers who provide genuine growth opportunities for our clients.

Client-Employer Matching:Employ your expertise in understanding client skill sets to effectively align them with job opportunities. Coordinate and follow up on interviews, negotiate placement terms, and ensure satisfaction for both clients and employers through consistent follow-ups at the three, six, nine, and twelve-month marks to support employment retention.

Sales-Focused Outreach:Implement sales techniques to identify opportunities within the hidden job market, positioning our services to prospective employers by underscoring the benefits of recruiting from a diverse talent pool.

Target-Based Performance:Strive to meet or exceed job development and placement objectives while maintaining an organized record of employer outreach, client placements, and other essential metrics that pertain to performance standards.

Cross-Team Collaboration:Collaborate closely with Employment Counselors and fellow team members to comprehensively understand the needs and strengths of our clients. Actively participate in team discussions to refine strategies for engaging employers effectively.

Event Planning:Collaborate with employer partners toidentify, secure, and execute hiring events, job fairs, and employment-related initiatives that support the vulnerable communities we serve including occasional evening and weekend outreach or event support.

Qualifications

  • Sales or Business Development Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a sales, business development, or client relations role. Experience with lead generation, client acquisition, or B2B outreach is highly valuable.
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and maintain long-term relationships. Time management and multitasking capabilities are essential for success in this fast-paced role.

  • Language:Proficiencyin a second language is an asset.
