Position Overview:

We prioritize student success and are dedicated to creating an environment that supports high levels of student engagement. Assiniboine College is currently looking to hire a Student Success Coach for their Residential Framing program in Garden Hill Anishinabe Nation.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with students to support their adaptation to classroom education by helping them balance priorities.
  • Assist students in identifying skills for success by exploring their interests and abilities.
  • Help students determine educational requirements in their courses and develop training plans.
  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure student success and connect students with college support services.
  • Develop employment and career plans with students as they complete their practicum and graduate.

Some Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma in an education-related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with adults in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of employability and essential skills for Carpenters.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with instructional staff, community partners, and training organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with students in developing innovative solutions and plans.
  • Demonstrated patience and non-judgmental listening skills.
