We are recruiting for an experienced Junior Web Designer to join our growing marketing team. This role will be based from Brossard Head Office in QC.

This is an on-site position.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Technical Product & Web Team Manager, this role is responsible for supporting all facets of new website design and development for client and internal websites. This will involve taking web design/development projects from initial design stages, creating (or taking direction on the creation of) designs and delivering completed website projects once all approvals have been received. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing modifications, edits, and partial design projects required for existing sites as needed. All website projects will be required to meet the minimum design and SEO standards already adopted for client and internal websites. The Junior Web Designer will support and work closely with the Senior Web Designer as they direct and allocate existing in-house design and development resources, as well as managing and coordinating external development resources as required.

Performance of these responsibilities requires timely and professional communications with clients, team members, external developers and the development of cooperative professional relationships with clients, team members and others.

Responsibilities

• Coordination and production of website design and development including theme and/or child theme customization and/or development.
• Ensuring all work performed, and all projects delivered, conform to the current 123Dentist standards for new website projects.
• Design and development outside of WordPress for landing pages, microsites, and other non-WordPress sites as required.
• Ensuring the incorporation of all necessary HTML and CSS into WordPress themes, templates and additional PHP and HTML pages.
• Ensuring the documentation of work for end-users and commenting and proper organization of code so other team members can work with that code
• Flexibility and eagerness to identify, learn, and use new and changing technologies
• Effective time management capability to manage multiple projects at a time while working with a diverse group of stakeholders, team members, and service providers.
• Coordinate and assist with the creation and use of designs and graphics for primarily online use, such as social media postings, TV displays, display advertising platforms, and any other design or development tasks as may be directed.
• Setup of WordPress options, plugin installation and configuration.
• Setup of WordPress theme options and configuration.
• Other duties as assigned by your Manager/Director from time to time.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in web design and development.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Bilingual (French/English)
• Minimum 2 years experience designing and building with WordPress.
• Significant experience working with client and delivering excellent client experiences.
• Knowledge of and experience with current web development languages (including HTML5, CSS3, PHP/MySQL).
• Clear understanding of web standards and usability.
• Ability to receive and give direct communication.
• Adaptable to the environment.
• Detail oriented, self-starting, and conscientious.
• Ability to quickly absorb and utilize new technical information as required
• Ability to competently plan, schedule and monitor their own work.
• Be familiar with, and be able to use as directed, all applicable tools, methods, procedures and standards.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Experience working the Divi WordPress theme.
• PHP coding experience, specifically WordPress plugin development.
• WHM/cPanel administration experience.
• Ability to work and communicate in French and English is an asset..
