A leading tech company in Metro Vancouver is looking for a Java Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design and build scalable automated test frameworks. Job description

Java Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable automated test frameworks and test suites working across technologies
• Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs and webservices
• Develop automation code demonstrating a strong understanding of object-oriented design fundamentals, data structures and design patterns
• Create API and webservice automated tests using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured or similar tools
• Create, maintain, and execute test scripts, analyse and communicate test results
• Mentor QA resources in test automation
• Provide the Team Lead with effort estimates and progress reports

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience, preferably in either a (SDE) Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role
• Minimum 4 years of experience with backend automation with technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services Java, Postman, SOAP UI, Jmeter, REST assured
• Accomplished abilities in Java and Core Java and scripting languages, and in API testing and writing automated tests for mobile platforms
• Sound knowledge of database CRUD operations, Unix commands, scripting
• Exposure to working in DevOps environment such as, installing, configuring and integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration tools (CI/CD) like Jenkins
• Minimum 6 years of experience in QA
• Experience using Git
• Ability to contribute to improving QA best practices

Nice to Haves

• Working knowledge on testing and configuring Amazon Web services (AWS)
• Experience with performance and/or security testing
• Experience with mobile app testing on iOS and Android
• Experience with testing web apps/websites
• Experience with tools such as Appium, Selenium and/or XCUI test

The position MUST work out of our Vancouver office. Relocation support is not provided.
