Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer in Toronto, ON, to support application development, enhancements, production support, and technology projects in an enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Java, Spring Boot, Angular, API development, CI/CD, Git, and enterprise app experience. Financial services or insurance domain exposure is a plus. This contract is hybrid with evolving in-office requirements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related discipline preferred.
• Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop new application solutions, features, and enhancements based on business and technical requirements.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java/Spring Boot applications.
• Develop and maintain frontend components using Angular.
• Design and develop REST/SOAP web services and APIs.
• Perform unit, component, and integration testing for application changes.
• Troubleshoot application issues, defects, incidents, and production problems.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, technology teams, business stakeholders, and other internal partners.
• Analyze technical requirements and recommend practical engineering solutions.
• Support application releases, deployments, and post-production activities.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and related development and deployment tools.
• Document application components, integrations, infrastructure, and technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, deployment, and support processes.
• Assist with incident investigation, impact assessment, problem determination, and resolution.
• Work with technology partners and third-party vendors where required.

12 Months with possible extension or hire

Hybrid - 2 days but will be transitioning to 4 days in office next year

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to support application development, enhancements, production support, and technology projects within an enterprise environment.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot .

• Strong experience with Angular and modern frontend development.

• Experience developing REST/SOAP APIs and web services .

• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Bitbucket, or GitHub .

• Experience with enterprise application/runtime environments such as Tomcat or JBoss .

• Strong understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2 .

• Good understanding of application infrastructure, integrations, and deployment environments.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Node.js .

• Experience with Azure or AWS .

• Experience integrating third-party/vendor products.

• Experience in financial services or insurance-related applications .

• Experience with enterprise application integrations.

• Experience with Jira and Confluence .

Experience & Education

• 8+ years of software development experience preferred.
