Java Developer Equity Finance Technology – VP (BELFAST)

The Equity Finance Technology team is seeking a software engineer for the Trading technology team in Belfast. This role requires strong expertise in Java and the ability to collaborate with traders to build business value through agile delivery.

Responsibilities:

  1. Resolve high-impact problems and projects by evaluating complex business and system processes against industry standards.
  2. Provide expertise in application programming and ensure designs align with the architectural blueprint.
  3. Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation, utilizing advanced system flow knowledge.
  4. Gain comprehensive understanding of how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure integrate to meet goals.
  5. Analyze issues deeply and develop innovative solutions with interpretive thinking.
  6. Serve as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, assigning work as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience in application development or systems analysis.
  2. Proven experience in software programming and analysis.
  3. Successful project management experience.
  4. Subject Matter Expert in at least one application development area.
  5. Ability to adapt priorities quickly.
  6. Strong leadership and project management skills.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Knowledge of JMS, TIBCO, Kafka, Oracle RDBMS, Unix, scripting (Bash/PERL), QA, Git, JUnit.
  9. Experience in Equity Finance IT, Securities Lending, Repo, or Swaps.
  10. Knowledge of React, Web Services, and Business Analysis.
  11. Mandarin language skills are a plus.

Education:

  • University degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
