Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a key priority for Recovery Alberta. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Mental Health and Addiction services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Mental Health and Addiction clients and their families. To support this goal, the North Zone Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHA) department has an exciting opportunity for an MHA Recovery Worker with the Hinton/Jasper Mental Health and Addiction Services (Child/Youth and Adult). This position is based in Jasper and will serve clients who have been impacted by the recent Jasper Wildfire or who may have an identified mental illness, through a Recovery Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework that promotes client respect, autonomy, health, and improved quality of life. Preferred candidates will reside within the Hinton-Jasper corridor.
Description:
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Engaging, with strong communication skills. Previous outreach experience. Knowledge of trauma informed care. Ability to travel during inclement weather.
