Shift and Schedule: 10 hour shift

Reports To: Lift Maintenance Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor

Position Overview: A Maintenance Laborer assists Mechanics, Electricians, and Carpenters in maintaining all assets at Marmot Basin. These assets include, but are not limited to, Ski Lifts, Snowmaking Systems, Buildings, water treatment systems, and new construction. The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all, and sometimes adverse weather conditions. This is a full-time seasonal role, 4 days out of 7 per week, 10 hours per day from May through to October each summer season. Please note that you may not receive full-time hours at the beginning/end of the season. Alberta Employment Standards regarding a ninety-day probationary period applies.

Requirements:

1. Must be 18 years or older
2. Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence
3. Must produce clean Alberta driving abstract
4. Must possess an enthusiastic and positive attitude
5. Must be able to lift 50lbs and at times repetitively
6. Must enjoy working outdoors with a team and by themselves
7. Enjoy learning about mechanics
8. Ability to be a great environmental steward to Jasper National Park
9. Must be able to operate ATVs and Side by Sides
10. Physically Fit

1. Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons
2. Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for sometimes highly stressful situations
3. Strong team member able to take direction
4. Motivated and observant; able to perceive needed tasks and complete them without direction
5. Self-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and training
6. Able to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solve

Qualifications:

1. Ski Industry experience (an asset)
2. Previous experience operating surface lifts and aerial chairlifts (an asset)
3. Physically fit
4. Mechanical background (an asset)
5. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Operate aerial and surface lifts
2. Assist mechanics, electricians, carpenters with daily duties
3. All other duties as assigned
4. Adherence to the company’s practices and procedures
5. All Marmot Basin employees will conduct themselves in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their job

Supplementary:
Respect and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the ‘Corporate Policies’, ‘Employee Handbook’ and ‘Lift Operations Training Manuals’. Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s ‘Privacy Policy’.
