Qualifications

  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all toilet and shower facilities.
  • Support First cook with cleaning in kitchen as required.

Job Requirements :

MATRIX is currently seeking a Janitor / Sanitation worker to work on a rotational basis at our MLA Camp (Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut). If you are a team-oriented, motivated person with a keen eye for detail, you may just be the fit we are looking for. You will play a key role at one of our remote camps. This position reports to the Lead Housekeepers on site.

Responsibilities include :
  • Inventory of all cleaning supplies and paper products related to office / showers / toilet facilities
  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and complete daily log.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all toilet and shower facilities;
  • Servicing Pacto toilets, daily, and helping package for incineration.
  • Sweeping and mopping of all floors in toilet and shower facilities;
  • Administration of waste and recycling management program
  • Wash, dry and replace bed linens as required.
  • Take garbage to dumpsters.
  • Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry room, rec room
  • Support First cook with cleaning in kitchen as required.
  • Assist with receiving of groceries on grocery days.
  • Assist with cleaning and preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment
  • Participate in Mock Medivac scenarios
Qualifications :
  • Team player, good interpersonal skills
  • Must be acutely safety minded
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and clean drivers abstract are an asset.

  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • 1-2 Seasons working in a remote camp setting is required.

This position works on a 3 week in / 3 week out rotation (Fully Remote). Preference will be given to those that live in Edmonton or Yellowknife, or the surrounding local communities within the Kitikmeot Region.
