Job description

Department: Housekeeping Services
Job Title: Janitor
Reports to: Resident Support Services Manager

As a valued team member, the Janitor position, under the direction of the Resident Support Services Manager, performs general cleaning duties at Chippawa Creek, Bella Care Residence.

This includes cleaning public area bathrooms, staff rooms, offices, and other areas as assigned. The role follows all relevant policies including infection prevention and control, WHMIS, and quality improvement.

Hours: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., 40 hours biweekly

Responsibilities:
  1. Vacuums, dry mops, and wet mops all assigned floors.
  2. Cleans bathrooms and commodes in public areas.
  3. Ensures equipment is clean and reports any repair needs to the Supervisor.
  4. Identifies and reports risks to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and staff.
  5. Maintains a safe environment by adhering to established safety policies, standards, and procedures.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  7. Communicates effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  8. Has the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  9. Attends in-service education as applicable.
