Job summary

Extendicare in Canada is seeking a part-time Janitor to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff in our long-term care facilities. You will follow established cleaning, disinfecting, and safety protocols inside and outside the facility.

The role requires physical stamina for lifting, bending, and climbing; a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening; and a collaborative approach with other departments.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside the facility.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-service education.
• Collaborate with other departments on tasks like transferring residents and stocking supplies.
