Job summary

Dexterra Group is hiring a Janitor for Northern Manitoba Remote Camp Operations. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing common areas, with travel to and from designated Winnipeg locations. A safety sensitive position requiring a criminal record check and pre-employment drug testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all common areas including gym, rec room, boot room and lobby.
• Handle garbage and recycling collection/removal.
• Perform floor care and scrubber operation.
• Clean and sanitize all public washrooms and offices.
• Maintain clean desk and front desk areas; refill hand sanitizer stations.
• Uphold a safe working environment at all times.

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Janitors are a vital asset to our team and play an integral role in ensuring the cleanliness of site. Janitors work with the Lead Housekeeper, Camp Manager, and the Recruitment Coordinator to follow the company standards for quality and site cleanliness.

This position is safety sensitive and requires a criminal record check.

The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:

• All meals and accommodations are provided
• Travel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in Winnipeg, Thompson, Flin Flon and The Pas.
• Private room with cable television
• Wi-Fi
• Laundry facilities and detergents
• Gym and common areas
• Benefits available after 600 hours worked

Key responsibilities include:

• Clean and sanitize all common areas, including the gym, rec room, boot room and front lobby
• Garbage and recycling collection and removal
• Floor care, including sweeping prior to using the T-300 floor scrubber
• Clean and sanitize all public washrooms
• Clean and sanitize management offices as well as the front desk area
• Re-fill hand sanitizer stations throughout site, ensuring they never run out
• Maintain a safe working environment at all time

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Related experience in remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment; commercial cleaning is considered an asset
• Current First Aid certification is an asset
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, equipment and products
• A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
• Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
• Must have the ability to complete a Criminal Background Check
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to handle the following physical demands:
  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Climb ladders or stairs
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
  • Perform work with arms at full length
  • Work with arms above shoulder height
