Lookout Housing and Health Society seeks a Janitor/Maintenance Worker at Walton Residence in Vancouver. You ensure cleanliness, maintain mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, and support ongoing premises upkeep.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you join a COR-certified organization with respirator fit testing and strict health and safety practices. Shifts are 7.5 hours, including days, afternoons/evenings and overnights, seven days a week.

Location: Walton Residence 15 minute walk from Stadium-Chinatown Skytrain Station
Days and Hours of work: 7 days a week, day, afternoon/evening and overnight shifts, weekdays, weekends and holidays
Shifts are 7.5 hours in length
Days of rest shall be consecutive. Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice
Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews
Salary: $26.72 - 28.48 depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)
The Janitor Maintenance Worker reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society, including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. Janitor/Maintenance Workers ensure the cleanliness of the overall site, both inside and outside. The worker will also ensure that building functions such as mechanical, plumbing, and electrical are properly maintained. Ongoing maintenance and janitorial work is required on premises.
This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
