JANITOR POSITION

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide a clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines.

This position is for our Extendicare St. Catharines Home, located in St. Catharines.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside of the Long-Term Care facility.
2. Adhering to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety.
3. Participating in staff meetings as assigned, attending in-service education programs, and completing all mandatory education.
4. Collaborating with other departments on tasks such as transferring residents, moving, ordering and storing supplies, and maintaining furniture and equipment.

What You Bring

1. Comfortable handling considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, moving equipment, climbing ladders, and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
2. The ability to work safely by following established safety practices and procedures.
3. A Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
