Job Summary

The Janitor Building Caretaker will contribute to Gwillimdale Farms through performing general routine cleaning and sanitation duties inside of Gwillimdale’s facilities including but not limited to; offices, shop, lunch/breakrooms, kitchens, restrooms, and housing.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Daily cleaning tasks in the Production Plant. This includes washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens and all common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping/cleaning surfaces and emptying garbage.
2. Daily cleaning tasks in the Main Office. This includes washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens and all common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping/cleaning surfaces and emptying garbage.
3. Daily cleaning tasks in the Back Shop. This includes washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens and all common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping/cleaning surfaces and emptying garbage.
4. Responsible for cleaning duties at the Storage facility. This includes washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens and all common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping/cleaning surfaces and emptying garbage.
5. Complete all required paperwork and checklists daily and weekly (required for audit).
6. Complete all required training assigned to you on ADP.
7. Keep track of inventory related to cleaning supplies and equipment.
8. Complete all necessary paperwork related to food safety.
9. Responsible for cleaning tasks in preparation for migrant housing arrivals, departures and public health inspections.
10. Other duties as requested.

Skills And Qualifications

Experience:

1. Previous work as a cleaner in an office / industrial setting is an asset.
2. 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position.
3. Valid G Class Driver’s License is required.
4. WHMIS training is an asset.

Abilities:

1. Comfortable kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting, shoveling and/or standing for long periods of time.
2. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Able to work 8 to 10 hour shifts.
4. Sound discrimination.
