Job Summary

The Janitor/Building Caretaker will perform general routine cleaning and sanitation duties inside Gwillimdale’s facilities, including but not limited to offices, shop, lunch/break rooms, kitchens, restrooms, and housing.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform daily cleaning tasks in the Production Plant, including washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens, common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and garbage disposal.
2. Perform daily cleaning tasks in the Main Office, including washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens, common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and garbage disposal.
3. Perform daily cleaning tasks in the Back Shop, including washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens, common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and garbage disposal.
4. Clean the Storage facility, including washrooms, lunchrooms, kitchens, common areas, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and garbage disposal.
5. Complete all required paperwork and checklists daily and weekly for audits.
6. Complete all required training assigned via ADP.
7. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
8. Complete paperwork related to food safety.
9. Prepare for migrant housing arrivals, departures, and public health inspections.
10. Perform other duties as requested.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

1. Previous experience as a cleaner in an office or industrial setting is an asset.
2. 1-2 years of similar work experience.
3. Valid G Class Driver’s License required.
4. WHMIS training is an asset.
