Canlan Sports is currently looking for a Janitor.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on janitor to perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of entrances, grounds, and parking lot, including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Keep checklists, records, and reports related to:
• Change room cleanliness
• Window cleanliness
• Washroom and shower cleaning
• Parking lot and property cleaning
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing according to established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks as required
• Support ice maintenance during peak periods, staffing shortages, or as needed

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is an asset.
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC) is preferred.
• Previous experience as a commercial janitor is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and call-outs.
• Approachable, team-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
