J.Y Tiling LTD is seeking F/T Tile Installers

• NOC Job Code/Title: NOC 73101 - Tile Installer

Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $33.00 – $36.00/hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 30 – 40 hours/week

Number of Positions: 2

Work Location: 269 Lone Oak Place, Victoria, BC V9B 0X3

Benefits: 10 days paid vacation per year or 4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

1. Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered
2. Construct underbeds and install anchor bolts, cables and brackets
3. Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
4. Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting equipment
5. Place tiles and apply pressure to affix them to the base
6. Install tile strips
7. Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
8. Use levels, squares and straightedges to align and straighten tiles
9. Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
10. Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
11. May prepare cost estimates and orders

Job Requirements:

1. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in related field is required
2. Education: Completion of secondary school is required
