Position: Senior IT Technical Advisor – SAS and BI admin with development experience

Location: Toronto, ON OR Vancouver, BC OR St-Hyacinthe Montréal - Hybrid

Contract: Long term

Your contribution :

1. Work as a SAS administrator of SAS 9.4 environment, supporting the daily operations of D&A SAS and BI tools like connectors to Power BI, Snowflake environments, including data processing and task assignment.
2. Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks, issues, and compare options based on feasibility and impact. Propose action plans to optimize SAS 9.4 environment performance by collaborating with actuaries to review and optimize their code.
3. Identify solutions to achieve D&A data vision and objectives using expertise in data integration of SAS and BI tools.
4. Participate in continuous process improvement by sharing ideas, best practices, and enhancements related to SAS and BI.
5. Improve main data quality processes to enhance execution speed, quality, and efficiency.
6. Apply organizational and departmental change management best practices in relation to data warehouses.

Your main assets :

• Over 3-5 years of experience in administering and supporting SAS Production and development environments.
• 3-5 years of experience in SAS 9.4 development.
• Experience in setting up and operationalizing SAS environments.
• Extended understanding of SAS data integration flows and concepts.
• Interest in understanding complex systems.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and parallel computing is a plus.
• Critical reasoning skills for addressing complex challenges.
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
• Technical skills: SAS, Python, VSCode, SQL, VBA, UNIX Script, HTML, BASH, Shell Scripting.
