The Cahill Group is seeking motivated and collaborative professionals for an IT Systems Specialist role in St. John’s, NL. As an IT Systems Specialist with The Cahill Group, you will be a key member of our dynamic IT team. You’ll support, maintain, and improve our IT infrastructure, ensuring the secure, efficient, and reliable delivery of technology services across the company. This opportunity offers exposure to both traditional on-prem systems and modern cloud-based platforms.

In this role, you will work with a range of technologies including Microsoft Active Directory, VMware, Veeam, MECM, Intune, and Azure/Entra ID. Key to success are exceptional troubleshooting skills, clear documentation, and strong team collaboration. This is a permanent position, working Monday through Friday from our corporate office in St. John’s.

What You'll Do
  • Administer and support enterprise infrastructure systems, including Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, NPS, VMware virtualization, Veeam backup platforms, SAN storage, and power systems (UPS, PDU).
  • Configure, manage, and deploy devices using Intune and MECM.
  • Implement and manage security controls, access policies, and patching standards.
  • Maintain and support network infrastructure including LAN/WLAN/VPN/Firewalls.
  • Participate in system upgrades, change control processes, and risk assessments.
  • Assist with hybrid environments including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Support and document AWS and Azure-based infrastructure and services.
  • Maintain clear and accurate system and process documentation.
  • Participate in after-hours support rotation as required.
What You Bring
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a related industry or field.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Industry certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, or AWS/Azure are assets.
  • Intermediate knowledge of VMware, Veeam, and SAN storage.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies (AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with MECM (SCCM), Intune, imaging tools, AWS, and Azure services, especially hybrid identity (e.g., Entra ID).
  • Proficient in network and security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation).
  • Comfortable with endpoint, server, and network troubleshooting.
  • Positive, collaborative work style and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
