Job description

Our government client requires the services of an IT Systems Engineer to configure, support, and maintain major IT products and infrastructure in their Public Sector Defense environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, engineer, install, configure, test, troubleshoot, support, and maintain IT products and infrastructure.
2. Work with collaboration applications, database applications, and application integration to resolve IT issues.
3. Provide systems engineering documentation for interactions with defense-specific technology infrastructure.
4. Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to support general IT issues.
5. Develop options analysis with IT team members.
6. Work on classified networks.
7. Support database applications such as SQL, Oracle, or shared databases.
8. Provide general IT support on server virtualization platforms like VMware or Microsoft Virtualization Software.

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, or technical diploma.
2. Secret Security Clearance.
3. Experience in designing, reviewing, and developing technical documentation.
4. Experience supporting and maintaining major IT infrastructure and products.
5. Experience with at least two of the following: a) IP Networks; b) Network Security borders; c) Microsoft Operating Systems; d) Server virtualization platforms.
6. Experience with database applications such as SQL, Oracle, or shared databases.

This is a contract position for one year, beginning immediately.
