IT Systems and Networking Analyst (Maple Ridge, BC, Canada)

Position Overview

A dynamic IT department is seeking a skilled IT Systems and Networking Analyst for a temporary, full-time role. This role is critical as the organization navigates through an integration phase involving multiple entities. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in IT systems, networking, and cybersecurity. This is an on-site position based in Maple Ridge, BC , with a contract lasting until September 30, 2025 .

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Systems Management :
  • Design, deploy, and maintain servers, storage, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Manage and monitor virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for optimal performance.
  • Implement and regularly test disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
  • Work with both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Manage cloud services such as Microsoft 365 , Azure , AWS , and Google Workspace .
  • Networking :
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor LAN / WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ensure network performance, security, and reliability through regular assessments and upgrades.
  • Manage VPNs, VLANs, and other network segmentation techniques for secure remote access.
  • Cybersecurity :
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Run cybersecurity awareness training campaigns using the KnowB4 platform.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers to conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, mitigating threats and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Support :
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals and external vendors to plan and execute IT projects.
  • Train staff on best practices in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience : 7+ years of independent IT experience, including senior roles requiring complex decision-making and stakeholder management.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certifications : Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ , CCNA , CISSP , or similar are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and security appliances.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS).
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining IT systems and networks in complex environments.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teams and providing technical guidance.
