Company Overview

Medical Associates of Port Perry is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that has recently undergone significant renovations to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Located conveniently across from Lakeridge Health Port Perry, our 62,000 square foot facility is equipped with the latest technology to support our medical professionals.

Position Overview:

The IT Systems Administrator will maintain the network and all computer hardware, software, and related equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of all hardware, software and office parts and equipment, including maintaining service and log reports
  • Recommend capital equipment and procurement expenditures and approve capital equipment requests within established thresholds.
  • Assist in establishing annual capital budget
  • Ensure hardware/network compliance with EMR vendor
  • Maintain compliance with network security policy and protocols
  • Respond to hardware and network calls within operation
  • Maintain communications equipment including telephone system and Call Pilot program
  • Maintain EMR connection, internet connections, link to LHPP
  • Maintain website functionality in coordination with outside resources
  • Maintain problem/issue log consistent with department format and protocols
  • Participate in IT committee meetings
  • Manage function of patient TVs throughout building
  • Ensure system wide security and critical data recovery plan
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plan
  • Work closely with Data Management Specialist and EMR Support Specialist to meet the goals of the IT department
  • Provide IT presence at meetings when required
  • Engage in IT projects as required
  • Cybersecurity plan with regular update/ revisit with annual review with CEO
  • Identify common user pain points and work with vendors to develop and/or advocate for timely solutions
  • Communicate the status of user concerns back to user in a timely manner and develop and maintain systems to do same
