Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an IT Support Specialist focusing on macOS and Windows systems. The position is based in Vancouver, BC. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting various issues, and offering help desk support for desktop computers. This role requires regular interaction with clients to understand their technical needs and provide effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the client support experience by fielding all inbound technical requests, delivering expert solutions via phone, email, and our ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues across hardware, software, network infrastructure, and cloud services.
  • Proactively engage with clients through regular on-site visits to build strong relationships, understand their business needs, and identify opportunities for IT improvements.
  • Create, maintain, and meticulously update technical documentation, including system configurations, client knowledge base articles, and service ticket records.
  • Properly escalate complex issues to senior technical staff, ensuring detailed documentation and a seamless handover for swift resolution.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend emergency support, with a commitment to work-life balance through flexible scheduling and time-in-lieu arrangements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Desktop Computers and Information Technology.
  • Proficient in providing Help Desk Support.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Impeccable Follow-through: You always do what you say you're going to do, and you have the organizational skills to ensure it gets done.
  • Relevant certifications in IT support or system administration.
  • Proficiency with macOS and Windows administration, Google Workspace, Microsoft365, AzureAD/EntraID, GPOs, and intermediate networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPN).
  • Ability to remain calm and collected while handling simultaneous priorities.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a well-serviced vehicle that can be used to visit customers offices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent minimum of 3-5+ years of professional experience.
  • Familiar with scripting languages (PowerShell, bash, Python, etc).
  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required (Servers, UPSes, network equipment, etc).

Compensation: An expected base salary range of $50,000 - $62,000 CAD per year.

Performance Bonus: Opportunity to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics and contributions to client success.
