Job description

At CBCL Limited we are a successful dynamic and growing engineering and environmental consulting firm with an exciting one-year term contract opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join our team in Halifax Nova Scotia.

As a key member of our IT team youll provide front-line support to engineers technologists support staff and other professionals across the company. Your role will be essential in maintaining the reliability of our systems troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring our teams have the tools they need to work efficiently and effectively.

Candidates must be available to start work in August 2025.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide timely technical support to staff by troubleshooting hardware software operating systems printing issues and other day-to-day IT needs;
  • Maintain and repair hardware including computers printers and plotters;
  • Support and troubleshoot essential business applications including Microsoft Office Autodesk AEC Suite Newforma Project Center and other industry-specific tools;
  • Assist with setup and support of meeting room technologies including video conferencing Microsoft Teams and audio equipment;
  • Manage IT assets through tagging tracking and inventory maintenance; and
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly guides and documentation to support staff and improve self-service options.

Your Capabilities and Credentials :

  • A college diploma or university degree in an information technologyrelated program;
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in an IT support or similar role;
  • A proactive self-motivated approach with a willingness to take initiative and contribute to process improvements;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly;
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a focus on delivering responsive reliable support; and
  • A professional and approachable demeanor with the confidence to work with team members at all levels of the organization.
