IT Support Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:
To support and maintain in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all corporate hardware and software while ensuring its optimal performance. This role includes entry-level data-network support duties to maintain the stable operation of the in-house computer network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and maintain basic and specialized images for end-user desktop and laptop systems.
- Implement, document, and support the desktop/laptop/server image deployment servers.
- Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Develop packages and solutions to assist the users in the performance of their tasks.
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime.
- Build, troubleshoot, and repair hardware (printers, desktops/laptops, scanners, projectors, etc.).
- Use deployment tools to create, test, deploy and maintain desktop images.
- Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Provide end-user training and assistance where required.
- Manage inventory of current computer systems, parts, and software.
- Participate in implementing system security patches and software/firmware/system upgrades.
- Decommissioning of systems in an approved and secure fashion.
- Assist users with remote access systems issues.
- Advanced troubleshooting and user desk-side support.
- Basic networking support.
- First-level support for configuring, diagnosing, repairing, cell phones and laptop broadband support and services.
- Remain current on trends in the IT industry regarding end-user systems and support techniques.
- Assist IT System Engineers with administration and support of data center infrastructure operations.
- Be available after normal working hours to handle critical issues.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Information Technology.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience.
- Fluency with IT host services, storage technologies, and networking.
- Understanding of standard image deployment process as well as software package deployment tools.
- Familiarity with peripheral configuration/integration and support as well as with Enterprise data storage solutions and data back-up technology.
- Understanding of departmental procedures and compliance programs.
- Must possess previous experience in a technical call center, customer service team or IT/Help service desk.
- Experience with desktop operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and Group Policy.
- Working knowledge of LAN and WAN environments and hardware.
- Knowledge of LANDesk and a ticketing system preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including typing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.
- Strong documentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems (present and near future).
- In-depth knowledge of office automation software used at the facility, such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
- Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.
- Strong customer skills.
- Ability to function as an effective team member.
- Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
